Had lunch there today, the 16th of November, 2022. Had the Armada platter, and my wife had the chowder; we then had two coffees. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great, the staff were super, and the service was super. Being a travel editor, I visit many establishments around the world. This pub in Donegal town is one of the very best.

Love the old style interior from the moment we walked in. Staff very attentive directed us to the table immediately and were promptly back with drinks order and taking our food order. I ordered the Salmon and Prawn open sandwich and my wife the Caesar Salad. Food came out within minutes as both were cold and salad based. Beautifully presented and really good proportions, my wife commented to the waiter at the end that it was one of the best Caesar Salads she has had and I would agree that the Open Sandwich was not my best ever but definitely top 5!!

Ate in the castle bar this evening and it is one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time, absolutely gorgeous Cannot wait to come back here . Eat here if u are in the area you won't be disappointed .
